A Schuylkill County man is facing an indecent exposure charge after a reported fight with his nephew went off the rails.
Police in Shenandoah say they were called to a home in the 500 block of W. Centre St. for a reported disturbance. Dispatchers told police that the man who called 9-1-1 mentioned something about a stolen phone but he was uncooperative and intoxicated so it was difficult gleaning more details than they had.
At the scene, police say they met with Frankie Ramos, 61, of Shenandoah, in front of the residence from where he’d called for help. Police say Ramos was slurring his words and smelled of alcohol, likely from the can of beer he was drinking as he spoke to police. He also had a hard time keeping his balance.
Ramos reportedly told police that his nephew had accused him of stealing his phone, which he said he didn’t. His nephew then allegedly slapped him in the face but Ramos said he didn’t want to press charges against him.
Police say as their conversation with Ramos continued, he became increasingly disorderly and was shouting obscenities. Ramos allegedly ignored orders to go in his house and to stop creating a public disturbance.
At that point, Ramos allegedly started threatening to kill his nephew because he slapped him in the face. Police say they warned Ramos to stop and that that point, they say he dropped his pants and exposed himself in public. Ramos was then taken into custody at the scene and later released. He’s being charged with a misdemeanor count of indecent exposure as well as summary counts of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
