Tri-Valley exploded for five runs in the top of the seventh inning to break away from Schuylkill Haven Area and capture the District XI Class 2A baseball championship, 8-5 Thursday afternoon at Blue Mountain.
Braeden Doyle went 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in a run while Gavin Klock went 2-for-3 and drove in 4 runs for the victorious Bulldogs.

Owen Miller reached base three times and scored every time to lead Tri-Valley.
Doyle went 6.2 innings on the mound, striking out 5 and walking 2 to earn the victory. Klock picked up the final out for the save.

For the Hurricanes, Alan Evans was 3-for-4 at the plate and scored 3 runs while Hunter Correll added a pair of hits.
Correll struck out 6 and walked 4 on the mound for Schuylkill Haven Area.

Thursday’s title game was a back-and-forth affair before the Bulldogs pulled away in the final frame.
The Hurricanes took a one-run lead in the third before Tri-Valley pulled it back and went ahead in the fifth. Schuylkill Haven Area tied the game in the bottom of sixth, 3-3.
The Hurricanes were able to bring the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh but Klock recorded a strikeout to close out the game.
