Megan Yost’s walk-off single in the bottom of the 8th inning launched Pottsville into the District XI Class 5A softball semifinals Tuesday afternoon with a win over Bangor Area, 3-2.
Yost drove in two of Pottsville’s runs on Tuesday, after dropping a sacrifice bunt in the first to get the Crimson Tide on the board.
Olivia Wessner, Izzy Kunstek, Jes Siminitus, and Lana Cromyak all added hits for Pottsville. Siminitus is credited with three stolen bases on the day.
Peyton Eckert worked all eight innings for the Crimson Tide to earn the win. She allowed just three hits and two unearned runs while striking out three and walking two batters.
The Crimson Tide will now face top-seeded Pleasant Valley on Friday afternoon in Allentown for a right to go to the District championship game on May 29.
