Police are actively investigating an attempted homicide Wednesday morning in Tremont.
According to information just released by State Police-Schuylkill Haven, Troopers responded to 133 W. Laurel St. in the borough at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday for a report of shots fired.
Police say it was reported that a single shot was fire from a shotgun by 28-year-old Derek Weaver. The shot struck the victim, who has not been identified other than being a 30-year-old man, and their vehicle.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Weaver was taken into custody as has been charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and other offenses.
He was arraigned by District Magistrate Judge James Reiley on Wednesday and remanded to Schuylkill County Prison on $75,000 cash bail.
