Schuylkill County residents on the Trump train will be taking a bus trip to Washington, DC, on Jan. 20 to attend the Presidential Inauguration.
Donald Trump will become the 47th President of the United States that day. But hours before he’s sworn in to office, two busloads of his supporters will board coach buses in Schuylkill County to head there to witness the event.
The bus trip is being organized by Dodie Fetterolf Weller, a Schuylkill Republican Party Committee member.
Weller says the buses will depart Saint Clair at 4 a.m. on Jan. 20, with a pick-up spot in Frackville at 4:30 a.m. and at Flying J at the Manada Hill exit on Interstate 81 at 5 a.m.
Tickets to board the bus are $100, and that includes a tip for the driver. The cost covers a round trip to D.C. and back after the Inauguration. Weller says buses will likely depart Washington around 6 p.m. on the 20th, with the hope of getting back to Schuylkill County by midnight.
“It’s a chance to be part of history,” she says.
The cost of the bus trip does not include tickets to the Inauguration event itself but attendees will be able to view the ceremony from a distance. There’s currently a waitlist for Inauguration tickets, which grant goers a chance to get closer to the event.
