A Frackville man was arrested earlier this week for an incident in which he allegedly pointed a gun at a man inside a home on S. Nice St.
According to a criminal complaint filed by State Police-Frackville, the incident happened on Monday, just before 1 a.m. Police say at that time, Jarih Martinez-Fermin showed up at the front door at the home of the mother of his child.
The mother of the child told her guest to go into the kitchen and wait. When she opened the door Martinez-Fermin allegedly pushed her out of the way and headed toward the kitchen.
Once he got to the kitchen, Martinez-Fermin pointed a black handgun at the house guest. The guest put his hands in the air, police say, until the woman intervened. Martinez-Fermin is seen on security video from inside the home shouting at the guest. During this incident, a two-year-old child enters the kitchen and stands in the middle of the argument.
Both men then leave the kitchen toward the living room and then the guest flees the home. Later, Martinez-Fermin also leaves the home and makes his way to Motel 6 in West Mahanoy Township. Police show up at that Motel 6 at 7:40 that morning and take Martinez-Fermin into custody, they say.
Martinez-Fermin was arraigned later on Monday morning before District Magistrate Edward Tarantelli who remanded him to Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 4 before Tarantelli, at which time Martinez-Fermin will answer to charges of aggravated assault, a second-degree felony, and misdemeanor charges of simple assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, and one count of making terroristic threats. He also faces a summary harassment charge.
