A Port Carbon man had charges against him held for Schuylkill County court in the case involving his alleged theft of equipment from a local coal mining operation.
David Capko appeared before District Magistrate David Plachko Tuesday morning for a Preliminary Hearing. He’s been in Schuylkill County Prison on third-degree felony theft, receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief charges after being unable to post $50,000 bail.
Capko is accused of stealing parts off coal mining equipment and selling the metal for scrap.
Capko was returned to Schuylkill County Prison but will be released upon a bed becoming available at an in-patient treatment facility. He was warned to continue in the treatment program or his bail would likely be revoked.
Capko’s co-defendant in this case, Kyle Putalavage was a no-show for his Preliminary Hearing on Tuesday and a warrant will issued for his arrest.
