The Minersville man pulled from his burning home earlier this month has died.
According to Lehigh County Cornoner Daniel Buglio, Mario R. Ramirez, 77, passed away Sunday afternoon from injuries sustained in that multi-home fire.
Buglio lists the cause of Ramirez’ death as the result of burns covering more than one-third of his body. He was pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest at 2:25 p.m. Sunday.
On the afternoon of Sunday, April 14, fire broke out at multiple homes in the 600 block of S. 2nd St. in Minersville. Up to six homes were damaged in the fire.
Prior to firefighters arriving at the scene, Ramirez was pulled from a third-story window teeming with thick, black smoke by a neighbor, Oscar Rivera, who used his own ladder to reach him. (READ MORE: Neighbor Pulls Man from Burning Home in Minersville)
