A Berks County man was seriously injured in a crash Sunday afternoon in Schuylkill County.

According to State Police-Schuylkill Haven, the crash happened along Hawk Mountain Rd. in East Brunswick Twp. at about 2 p.m.

Police say Zachary Bodolus, 18, of Douglassville in Berks County, was going east around a right curve in the road and left his lane. The Harley Davidson motorcycle he was riding laid over and slid on its right side.

The motorcycle’s undercarriage eventually came into contact with an oncoming Toyota pickup driven by Kelby Sivek, 28, of West Chester in Chester County. Sivek and a passenger in the truck escaped injuries.

Bodolus’ motorcycle eventually came to rest off the westbound lane shoulder. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A medical helicopter was used to get Bodolus to get to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. Police say he suffered serious injuries in the crash.
