Sheetz stores in Schuylkill County are selling one octane of gasoline at a deep discount this week. This could be good news for locals who have Thanksgiving travel plans or just want to save some money on gas.
The Unleaded 88 octane of gas at Sheetz is just $1.99 per gallon. Sheetz customers started getting gas at that price on Monday, Nov. 20 and the promotion lasts until Monday, Nov. 27 at 11:59 p.m.
By comparison, the Unleaded 87 gas at Sheetz is $3.45 per gallon right now.
Both Sheetz locations in Schuylkill County have the 88 octane fuel at this price, at the Pottsville store and at the Sheetz outside Schuylkill Haven.
This price is available at any Sheetz location selling Unleaded 88. Sheetz operates stores in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
Unleaded 88 is a blend of 85% gasoline and 15% ethanol. It can be used in any car manufactured after 2001 and in light-duty trucks and medium-duty SUVs, according to EPA regulations.
