A Schuylkill County man is behind bars after being charged with throwing a fork at a woman earlier this month.
According to information from State Police-Frackville, this incident happened in Cumbola, Blythe Twp., back in the evening hours of Oct. 22.
Police say 41-year-old James Zelinsky, of Cumbola, was arguing with a Cumbola woman. The verbal disagreement became physical.
As things escalated, Zelinsky allegedly chucked a metal fork at the woman. The fork hit the woman in the face.
The fork allegedly caused a laceration to the woman’s upper lip, police say.
Zelinsky was taken into custody and arraigned before District Magistration David Plachko. Plachko ordered Zelinsky be remanded to Schuylkill County Prison, charged with misdemeanor assault and a summary offense of harassment.
Bail for Zelinksy was set at a percentage of $25,000, which he’s been unable to pay, so he remains in prison.
Zelinksy will be due back before Plachko on Dec. 5 for a preliminary hearing.
