Lois A. Brady, R.N., 95 – Devoted to Nursing

Lois A. Brady, R.N., 95 of Pottsville died Friday June 9th at Seton Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg.

She was born January 25, 1928 in Schuylkill Haven a daughter of the late Alonzo and Mary Neiman Runkle

She was a 1945 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and a 1948 graduate of Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing where she became supervisor of the Gynecology Department.

Lois was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, and was a member of the last class of cadet corps of nursing at the end of World War II. She also participated in Harvard Medical Schools study in the health of women until it was discontinued in 2000.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Robert L. “Buck” Brady on February 17, 2007.

Surviving are her son, Steve Brady, MD; daughters, Sandy Logan and her husband Pat, Lynchburg VA; and Sharon Hoak, Pottsville; 4 grandchildren, Allison, Jason, Michael, and Amanda; 5 great-grandchildren.

In keeping with the Lois’s wishes there will be no services. Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
