The company that owns the radio stations T-102, A-106, and WPPA-1360 in Pottsville say someone robbed them of about $100,000 in copper earlier this month.

According to information from State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the alleged theft took place during the overnight hours of Dec. 7th and 8th.

Police say their investigation revealed someone broke into the antenna area on North St. in Norwegian Township, just outside Pottsville’s Jalappa section, and pilfered several copper items.

They say someone cut the fences surrounding five radio antenna towers and took flattened copper tubing, copper straps, and copper mesh screening.

The public is being asked for help with the police investigation. People with information about this incident earlier this month should contact the Haven barracks at 570-593-2000.
