A police officer with the city of Hazleton has been charged and arrested in connection with the suspected bombing of a Kelayres home Tuesday.
According to new information from State Police in Frackville, Ladell Emery Hannon, 31, was arrested Tuesday afternoon during the course of the police investigation into the alleged bombing.
Police are not saying Hannon set off the explosive device that sent a man at 3 Center St. in this Kline Twp. village to the hospital. The explosion also severely damaged an abandoned church across the street, blowing out all its windows.
However, while they were investigating the incident, they learned that back on Oct. 28, Hannon allegedly entered the same home and stole items.
Hannon was taken into custody at about 3 p.m. Tuesday and charged with first-degree felony burglary and other charges. He’s currently in Schuylkill County Prison on $300,000 bail.
State Police say their investigation into the Tuesday bombing is still active. According to information yesterday, police were investigating the bombing incident as a potential attempted homicide. Anyone with information is being asked to call the Frackville barracks at 570-874-5300.
