On Wednesday, the Christmas tree at Schuylkill County Courthouse was unveiled and lit for the first time this season.
Every year, one row office at the Courthouse is picked to decorate the tree that’s located in the main lobby of the building. This year, that honor fell upon the Clerk of Courts office.
Schuylkill County Clerk of Courts Maria Casey chose a pet theme for this year’s tree.
The 20-foot tall Fraser fir was was donated by the Schuylkill County Bar Association and provided by Leonard’s Tree Farm in Seltzer City, Norwegian Township.
Pod & Petal, a downtown Pottsville florist, donated the decorations and festooned it with dog and cat toys, bowls, leashes, and the like.
Pet food and supplies donations are being accepted at the tree inside the Courthouse and will be distributed to local pet shelters.
