Minersville Man Charged After 12-Mile Police Chase
A Minersville man was locked up in Schuylkill County Prison earlier this week after leading officers in several communities on a 12-mile chase.
Mahanoy City Police Dept. reports that they spotted Larome Wonsock, 34, on Sunday at about 5:20 p.m. After trying to stop him in his Jeep, Wonsock fled. Wonsock, incidentally, was already wanted for eluding police in connection with another incident.
Police say Wonsock mostly stayed within Ryan Township and he was eventually taken into custody following a “controlled stop” by Mahanoy City and Walker Township police officers. Police from Frackville, Shenandoah, Port Carbon, and Saint Clair assisted in the pursuit, as did State Police from the Frackville barracks.
Wonsock now faces another eluding police charge along with felony drug possession with intent to deliver, and felony firearms charges.
Mahanoy City Police showed off what Wonsock allegedly had on him at the time of his arrest in a Facebook post earlier this week:
