A Schuylkill County man is in Schuylkill County Prison after an incident Friday in Girardville.
According to information from State Police in Frackville, troopers arrived at 18 N. William St. to serve an arrest warrant on Edward Brown, 59, of Guntown.
Police say they were able to make verbal contact with Brown inside the house but he became argumentative. Troopers say they commanded Brown to come outside but he didn’t.
So, police made their way into the home to try and take Brown into custody. Brown wasn’t going peacefully though. Instead, he whipped a “large piece of glass” at police. He also had a large kitchen knife in his possession at the time.
That’s when Troopers Tased Brown and were able to arrest him.
He was arraigned before District Judge James Reiley in Pottsville.
Brown faces 6 second-degree felony charges for aggravated assault, 4 counts of simple assault and charges of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest. He was sent to Schuylkill County Prison on $50,000 cash bail.
