Three people sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision on the Gordon Nagle Trail Saturday afternoon.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, one of the drivers involved needed to be taken by helicopter to Hershey Medical Center for treatment.
The crash happened after 3:30 p.m. Saturday near where SPCA Road and Gordon Nagle Trail meet.
Police say Steven D. Reed, 48, of Williamstown was traveling south on The Trail, accompanied by Tori L. Reed, 47, of Williamstown.
Reed’s vehicle crossed into the northbound lane of the highway and struck a vehicle head-on driven by 25-year-old Anika Sine, of Pottsville. Both vehicles came to a complete stop at the point of impact.
Reed, the driver, had to be airlifted to Hershey Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. His passenger, Tori, was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. And Sine was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill.
Everyone involved was listed as suffering a serious injury in the crash.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Schuykill EMS and Yorkville Hose Company.
