A Saint Clair man suffered serious injuries during a crash on Route 61 earlier this week.
According to information made available by State Police in Schuylkill Haven, the crash happened where the highway intersects with Summer Valley Road in West Brunswick Township. The crash was reported at about 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 18.
That’s where police say Abreu Modesto, 68, of Orlando, Fla., tried making an illegal left turn from the southbound lane of Route 61.
As Abreu was attempting this turn, John Twardzik, 63, of Saint Clair, was traveling north on the highway and collided head-on with Modesto.
Both vehicles were disabled in the collision.
Police report that both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Twardzik reportedly suffered a serious injury. Modesto was injured in the crash as well.
