President Donald Trump announced on Twitter early this morning that he and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier in the day, it was learned that White House Advisor Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus. Hicks was near the First Family during recent trips, including to Tuesday’s debate and a campaign rally in Minnesota.
“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER,” the President tweeted just before 1 a.m. Friday.
According to OAN reporter Alex Salvi, a White House doctor said Trump will continue to carry out his duties as President:

But it didn’t take long for CNN to start thinking about a succession plan, not even knowing if Trump was suffering any symptoms of COVID-19. You can almost sense their giddiness:

The President’s tweet received about 700,000 likes in the first 2 hours it was posted. Sadly, many were likely from people (and we use that term lightly) actually celebrating a person getting sick.
President Trump, First Lady Melania Test Positive for COVID-19
Rest assured, there are still human beings out there who are decent.
Many Trump supporters took to his favorite social media platform to wish the First Family the best in their recovery from COVID-19.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson wished the Trumps well:

Ok there PT. Trump knew on Feb.7th that the virus was airborne. He also knew it was more deadly than the most strenuous flus. It’s just common sense that masks are helpful in containing an airborne virus. You’re just trying to cover for Trump’s poor decision making. Frank, I’ve been warning people since the beginning to do what they can to protect themselves and you think I want to see more dead. Sorry Frank, we all don’t think like you do. If the situation was reversed that’s what you’d be hoping for. As for Tom Wolf, he put in restrictions that helped save lives and slow down the spread of the virus. The CDC came out with a report that most people who contracted covid were most likely in restaurants. It’s just common sense. In places where people congregate such as bars and restaurants, you won’t be able to social distance and wear a mask while drinking a beer or eating a meal. Common Sense. He put in the same common sense restrictions as other states in the northeast, the main reason why we didn’t see 100,000 + cases a day in this country. Not Trump. The smart governor’s of the Northeast. Common Sense, Frank! Common Sense.
