It may be wise to start locking your vehicle doors at night in Shenandoah Heights. Residents there may also want to stop leaving very valuable items in those vehicles, too.
Another resident upda Heights left their vehicle unlocked overnight. And just like what happened a little more than a week prior to that, they had their handgun stolen from inside.
According to State Police in Frackville, a 48-year-old woman from Delano had a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Virginia Ave. in the Heights during the overnight hours of Sept. 4-5.
When the woman came outside on the morning of the 5th, she noticed that her Sig Sauer P365 was missing.
This is not the first recent theft from an unlocked vehicle in this West Mahanoy Township village. It’s not even the first theft of a gun from one of those vehicles.
Back on Aug. 27, police reported that someone living on Arizona Ave. also left their vehicle unlocked. And that gave a thief easy access to a pistol kept in the center console. That same night, an unknown thief stole $570 cash from another vehicle in Shenandoah Heights.
