The GIANT Company issued a recall of its store-brand Squash Noodle Medley product on Wednesday fearing it may have been contaminated with the food-borne bacteria known as Listeria monocytogenes.
GIANT says the product (seen below) is no longer available in stores. It was sold at GIANT between Aug. 8-19.
The company issued the recall today after it learned from its supplier that a sample of the product tested positive for Listeria, which can potentially be deadly and can definitely lead to serious illness if a contaminated product is eaten.
The recall is limited to the Squash Noodle Medley with a UPC #68826718585. Any Squash Noodle Medley with another UPC# is not included in the recall.
Although the product in question is beyond its “Best Enjoyed By” date, GIANT understands that some customers may have frozen the product.
If you still have this product in your freezer, you should definitely not eat it. It can be returned to GIANT for a full refund, the company says. Consumers with questions about this recall can call GIANT’s Customer Support Center at 1-888-814-4268.
This product was also sold at MARTIN’S stores.
GIANT operates a store in Schuylkill County at Cressona Mall.
