Thursday Weather: They’re Saying Showers and Storms but “They” Say Lots of Things

Today’s Weather in a GIF

Schuylkill County Weather Report for July 23

Yesterday, we reported that severe storms with some damaging winds would make their way through the Pottsville area. Boy, were we wrong. Outside of a passing shower and a few rumbles of thunder in the distance, it was mostly just a swampy hot day here in the big city.

Was it possible that the folks at National Weather Service were just trying to keep us off the golf course?

Well, they’re at it again for Thursday. Showers and storms are likely once again after noon today. It’s not supposed to be as hot but likely still tropical and swampy.

I was not watching the weather pattern, but it seems the storm followed I78, vs I81.
Really “boiled up” over the Fredericksburg area, high winds and pounding rain. And then continued to scoot down 78 into Berks Co.

Yes it seems it depends on where you were yesterday! There was a pretty good soaking rain at my home in Orwigsburg but in Pottsville, just a few drops, not even enough to properly water my grandmother’s patio plants. I wouldn’t really mind the hot days if there was just a shower to water the garden every day LOL

The rain would definitely be an improvement over the tap water for the plants. That stuff smells like the JFK.

Orwigsburg tap water is not good for plants or people. Very strong chlorine and chemical smell and taste. Gotta have rain or a rain barrel to water plants down here.
