🇺🇸 James A. Stripe – Worked for US Postal Service for 35 Years

James A. Stripe, 92, of Vienna, VA, formerly of North Liberty Street, Orwigsburg, died Thursday, May 21, at his residence, with family by his side.

James was born in North Manheim Township on August 3, 1927, a son of the late Annie (Fenstermacher) and Oscar Stripe.

He was the widower of Elizabeth M. (Marotte) Stripe. He was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1945 and he served in the U.S. Army during WW II.

He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 35 years.

James is survived by his son Mark J. Stripe, husband of Elizabeth A., Vienna, grandson Matthew J. Stripe, Carlisle, and granddaughter Rebecca L. Stripe, Vienna.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by an infant brother Stanley and brothers Earl and Norman Stripe and sisters Anna Nye, Rose Bolton, Jean Knapp and Margaret Freed.

Interment will be held at Salem Evangelical Cemetery, Orwigsburg at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA Inc., Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.

Hamilton-Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg is honored to have served the family.
