Four Schuylkill League teams advanced to the District XI basketball championship round on Tuesday. Here’s a look at how local teams did in semifinal action:

2020 District XI Basketball Semifinals

Schuylkill League girls’ basketball champs North Schuylkill topped Palmerton in a Class 3A semifinal game, 57-32. The Lady Spartans face Notre Dame-Green Pond, which held Northern Lehigh to just 17 points in a 51-17 final in the other semifinal.

Nativity’s Golden Girls topped Lincoln Leadership in a Class 1A semifinal game, 58-28. They’ll take on Susquehanna Community in the district title game.

In boys’ games on Tuesday, Schuylkill Haven topped Mahanoy Area in an all-Schuylkill Class 2A semifinal game, 65-40. The Hurricanes now play Executive Education Academy in the finals. They beat Williams Valley, 71-56, in the other semifinal.

In Class 5A, Schuylkill League champions Pottsville defeated Bangor, 58-41. The Crimson Tide now play Southern Lehigh in a rematch of last year’s Class 5A championship game. Southern Lehigh topped Blue Mountain, 67-55.

In a Class 4A semifinal, Tamaqua gave up a 21-point early second half lead against Bethlehem Catholic and lost, 60-53.
