Dauphin County Deputy District Attorney Joe Kerwin Jr. earned the endorsement of his home county’s Republican Committee Saturday night.
Kerwin, from Lykens, is the 4th Republican candidate to officially enter the race for the 125th District seat in the state House of Representatives.
He joins the following declared candidates, all others from Schuylkill County:
- Schuylkill County Controller Christy Joy
- Schuylkill County Register of Wills Theresa Santai-Gaffney
- Retired US Army veteran Herv Breault
Joe Kerwin Jr. Earns Dauphin County GOP Endorsement for HD-125
According to a source familiar with the endorsement meeting last night, Santai-Gaffney tried for the Dauphin County endorsement among the declared local candidates.
Kerwin lists himself as Deputy District Attorney for Dauphin County. He’s 27 and a US Army Ranger.
He’s the only Dauphin County candidate to make any public announcement regarding the 125th District race.
The 125th District in the state House does contain a portion of northern Dauphin County, commonly known as Upper Dauphin County. That includes the boroughs of Gratz, Lykens, Pillow, and Williamstown.
In Schuylkill County, the 125th stretches from Pottsville to the western and southern edge. It includes boroughs of Auburn, Cressona, Landingville, Pine Grove, Schuylkill Haven, Tower City, and Tremont.
