🇺🇸 Kenneth William Moyer, 76 – Involved in Tamaqua Community

Kenneth William Moyer, 76, of Ephrata and formerly of Tamaqua, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 in Mount Joy.

He was the husband of Candice (nee Derr) Moyer to whom he was married 48 years.

Born in Tamaqua on February 26, 1943, Ken was a son of late William J. and Dorothy (nee Keich) Moyer.

As a member of the US Army, he served in Germany from 1960-1963.

Employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, Ken retired as manager of the State Liquor Store, Tamaqua in 2001.

He was a life member of the Tamaqua American Hose Co. #1; a founding member and past director of the Tamaqua Community Ambulance; a past president of the Tamaqua Jaycees; a secretary for the Tamaqua Elks for five years during the 1980s; and affiliated with Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua.

In addition to his wife, Candice, Ken is survived by sons, Kenneth Moyer, Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Pottsville, and Kevin Moyer and his wife Heidi of Akron, PA; grandchildren, Nathan and Erich Moyer of Akron, Arina Anderson and her husband, Taylor of Denver, PA, Kyla and Ethan Moyer of Pottsville, and Isabella Texter of Akron; great grandchild, Adler Anderson; sisters, Carol Ann Moyer of Tamaqua and Terry Rex of Andreas, and many nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by brothers, Harry, Donald, and William Moyer, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, to assist with expenses, contributions to his wife, Candice, at their home address of 100 Heritage Road, Ephrata, PA 17522 would be appreciated.

Services and military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home. Call 1-3 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.zgfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are being handled by the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Tamaqua.
