Meuser Calls House Impeachment Inquiry of Trump a “Farce”
Schuylkill County’s Representative in Congress, Rep. Dan Meuser (PA-9), says the Impeachment Inquiry called today by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is a farce.
Meuser believes this is the latest reach from Democrats who’ve been unable to get the sand out of their shorts since losing the 2016 election to Trump.
Rep. Dan Meuser Calls Impeachment Inquiry a Farce
“Speaker Pelosi’s impeachment inquiry announcement confirms what we have known all along. Since Democrats were unable to defeat President Trump in a lawfully conducted election, they are now focused on trying to unlawfully remove him from office,” Meuser says in a statement released Tuesday evening.
Earlier in the day, Pelosi finally caved to whining freshman Democrats in the House who think bullying and mob politics are the way to accomplish things.
The impeachment inquiry allegedly relates to Trump’s behavior on a call with the Ukrainian President. Democrats are saying that Trump pressured the Ukraine President to investigate Joe Biden’s actions that led to a lead prosecutor there getting fired when he was Vice President. That prosecutor was allegedly investigating Biden’s son, Hunter, and his business dealings there.
Democrats think Trump was trying to pressure the Ukraine President in a call this summer because the idea of Biden under investigation while he’s running for President would hurt his campaign.
Of course, the reality is that Biden is another impromptu Cornpop story away from ending his campaign. Trump doesn’t have much respect for Biden’s ability to compete with him, so the idea that he’d need to put his Presidency at stake with some dirt on Biden from the Ukraine seems rather absurd.
Our representative in D.C. agrees.
“This farce, which chooses to push a presumption of guilt where evidence is nonexistent, is nothing short of a Constitutional embarrassment for our country,” Meuser says.
Trump said before the impeachment inquiry was announced that he’d release the full transcript of the call in question. The Senate also called for the release of the original whistleblower complaint against Trump that led to this latest big reach from the Democrats.
Democrats “Harassing the President”
“After harassing the President through countless investigations that began before he was elected related to tax returns, Russian collusion, obstruction of justice, and hotel business operations – none of which were based in fact and costing tens of millions of taxpayer dollars – one would think that Democrat leadership would move on to matters of actual importance,” Meuser says.
“Democrat leadership has, however, chosen to focus on creating a far-fetched scandal related to a phone call with a foreign government leader. They are moving forward with an impeachment inquiry based on a transcript they have not read, one that the President is releasing tomorrow, and without the questionable whistleblower report,” he adds.
Meuser continues his staunch support of Trump since assuming the PA-9 seat in Congress in January. It appears Meuser’s sticking by Trump through this latest investigation launched by Democrats.
“As the Representative of Pennsylvania’s Ninth Congressional District, I remain focused on the issues that matter to the people I work for – lowering prescription drug and health care costs, protecting our country’s borders, and growing our economy through job creation, revitalization, and international trade deals like the USMCA,” Meuser says. “All of these issues are areas where the President is providing real leadership by aiming to correct the shortcomings of the past.”
