District 11 Title Grab – Blue Mountain Wins Baseball and Softball Titles; Vikings, Cards, Canes Add 1 Each

Schuylkill League teams performed mop-up duty on Thursday and Friday. They cleaned up nearly all the gold in the District 11 baseball and softball playoffs.

In total, five Schuylkill League teams won District titles. Blue Mountain won in baseball and softball. Williams Valley and Pine Grove added softball titles and Schuylkill Haven chalked up another in baseball.

Here’s a quick look at each game:

CLASS 2A BASEBALL
Schuylkill Haven 9, Williams Valley 3

Schuylkill Haven Wins 2A Baseball Title

First, on Thursday in a twin bill at Coca Cola Park in Allentown, Schuylkill Haven captured the District 11 Class 2A.

The Hurricanes overwhelmed Williams Valley to take the title, 9-3.

The winning was only getting started.

CLASS 5A BASEBALL
Blue Mountain 6, Whitehall 4

Blue Mountain Captures Back-to-Back 5A Baseball Titles

They were able to get this one in just before the rain fell over Allentown on Thursday. But they did and the Eagles walked away with their second straight District 11 Class 5A baseball championship.

Blue Mountain endured a 7th-inning rally from Whitehall but shut the door on it to cinch the title.

Blue Mountain’s win on Thursday secured 4 District 11 baseball championships for Schuylkill League teams:

  • Class 1A: Tri-Valley
  • Class 2A: Schuylkill Haven
  • Class 4A: North Schuylkill
  • Class 5A: Blue Mountain

CLASS 1A SOFTBALL
Williams Valley 4, Nativity BVM 0

Lady Vikings Silence Nativity Bats for 1A Championship

Williams Valley continued its successful postseason run by snagging the District 11 Class 1A softball championship on Friday. The Lady Vikes shut out Nativity BVM, 4-0, to capture the crown.

CLASS 2A SOFTBALL
Northern Lehigh 2, Schuylkill Haven 0

Haven Can’t Get the Bats Going in District Final Loss

Schuylkill Haven couldn’t get the offense moving on Friday and dropped the Class 2A softball championship to Northern Lehigh, 2-0.

CLASS 3A SOFTBALL
Pine Grove 12, Salisbury 0

Pine Grove Crushes Salisbury for District Title

The Lady Cards scored 32 runs in a pair of District 11 games.

CLASS 4A SOFTBALL
Blue Mountain 5, NW Lehigh 1

Blue Mountain Knocks Off Top Seed NW Lehigh in Finals

Blue Mountain dominated the Class 4A championship game on Friday in Parkland. The Eagles walked away with a 5-1 win over Northwestern Lehigh for the crown.
