Rev. Baransky Retiring, New Pastor Coming to St. Patrick’s in Pottsville

allentown dioceseThe Allentown Diocese announced new assignments for some of its priests. The moves affect Catholic several churches in Schuylkill County.

Reverend Francis J. Baransky Retiring

Rev. Baransky is retiring. He was last Pastor at Saint Richard Parish in Barnesville.

To replace him, the Diocese announced Msgr. Edward J. O’Connor is moving to Barnesville from his position as Pastor at St. Patrick’s Parish in Pottsville.

Replacing O’Connor will be Rev. Donald Cieniewicz. He’s currently the Pastor at St. Mary Parish in Hamburg.

These changes take place June 18.

Here are the other new assignments for Schuylkill County priests announced by the Allentown Diocese:

Reverend Richard C. Brensinger

Rev. Brensinger goes from Chaplain, Saint Christopher Catholic Newman Center, Kutztown University, Chaplain, Catholic Campus Ministry, Albright University, and Director, Diocesan Campus Ministry to Administrator, Saint Mary Parish, Hamburg and Pastoral Assistance, Saint Christopher Catholic Newman Center, Kutztown University, Kutztown.

Reverend Francis Iroot, A.J.

Rev. Iroot moves from Parochial Vicar, Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Orefield to Parochial Vicar, Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland, and Parochial Vicar, Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville.

Reverend Leo J. Maletz

Rev. Maletz from Pastor, Saint Matthew the Evangelist Parish, Minersville to Pastor Emeritus, Saint Matthew the Evangelist Parish, Minersville

Reverend Brian M. Miller

Rev. Miller switches as Pastor, Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, Frackville and Chaplain, Marian High School, Tamaqua also to Pastor, Saint Charles Borromeo Parish, Ashland.

Reverend Dominic T. Pham

Rev. Pham switches from Parochial Vicar, Saint Ann Parish, Emmaus to Administrator, Saint Joseph Parish, Sheppton, and Administrator, Saint Mary Parish, Ringtown.

Reverend Paul L. Rothermel

Rev. Rothermel goes from Pastor, Saint Charles Borromeo Parish in Ashland to Pastor, Most Blessed Trinity Parish in Tremont.

Reverend William N. Seifert

Rev. Seifert moves from Administrator, Saints Peter and Paul Parish, Lehighton to Saint John Vianney Diocesan Confessional Ministry, Chaplain, Diocesan Homeschool Community; and, Chaplain, Deaf Apostolate, with Residence, Holy Family Villa, Bethlehem.

Reverend Jason F. Stokes

Rev. Stokes goes from Pastor, Most Blessed Trinity Parish, Tremont to Pastor, Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Minersville and Pastor, Saint Matthew the Evangelist Parish, Minersville.

Reverend Eric N. Tolentino

Rev. Tolentino moves from Administrator, Saint Mary Parish in Ringtown and Administrator, Saint Joseph Parish in Sheppton to Prison Ministry at SCI-Mahanoy, SCI-Frackville, FCI-Minersville and Schuylkill County Prison and Sacramental Ministry, Schuylkill Deanery, Nursing Homes with Residence, Saint Clare of Assisi Rectory, Saint Clair.

Reverend Christopher M. Zelonis

Rev. Zelonis moves from Pastor at Saint Michael the Archangel Parish, Minersville, to Pastor, Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Lehighton.
