Police say a Pottsville man jumped out of a window of an apartment building overnight after he broke into two units.
According to information released by police in Pottsville, officers were dispatched to an apartment building in the 100 block of N. George St. shortly before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday for a report of people fighting in the hallway.
Police say that Sean Dotson, 25, of Pottsville, had kicked his way into a unit on the second floor of the building before he was confronted by the tenant inside. Dotson then fled to the third floor and broke into another apartment unit.
He then allegedly jumped from a window of that apartment onto a roof below. Police took him into custody after he landed.
Dotson, police say, was in possession of several items of drug paraphernalia. During their investigation, police say they learned that Dotson had an active bench warrant for his arrest. Dotson, they say, was on the Megan’s Law offenders list and hadn’t updated his current address.
He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison and will be arraigned at a later date, police say.
For his alleged part in the incident overnight, police are charging Dotson with criminal trespass, failing to verify his address, evading arrest, persistent disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
