Tamaqua Man Wanted by Police After Alleged Vehicle Ramming Incident

A warrant has been issued for a Schuylkill County man accused of ramming the vehicle of his ex-girlfriend with his vehicle last week.

According to court documents filed by police in Tamaqua, Travis Hill, 32, of Tamaqua, is wanted on several felony charges following an incident that occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Jan. 14 in the borough.

Police say the victim and a male friend decided to leave the friend’s house shortly before 1 a.m. At the same time, Hill, the victim’s ex-boyfriend pulled up next to the two and rolled down his window. The ex-girlfriend told police that Hill had been calling her all day but she ignored him.

Hill began pounding the steering wheel in his vehicle and said, “You are f***ing dead!” Then, Hill turned his vehicle around and began ramming the back of their vehicle with his, hitting it about three times and causing damage to the rear of the vehicle, police say.

After that happened, the two drove directly to Tamaqua’s police station. Hill followed but then drove away. Later, they drove to a nearby hospital because the ex-girlfriend said the incident may have aggravated a concussion she suffered earlier in the week.

Police attempted to make contact with Hill but were unsuccessful. An arrest warrant was signed by District Magistrate Judge Stephen Bayer on Jan. 18. Hill’s being charged with two first-degree felony counts of aggravated assault, a pair of misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct, a single count of simple assault, and summary offenses for harassment, careless driving, and reckless driving.
