Annual Tree Seedling Sale is Now Underway

Sales benefit Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association

Sweet Arrow Lake Conservation Association and Schuylkill Conservation District are teaming up for their annual Seedling Sale.

All proceeds from the annual Seedling Sale directly help Sweet Arrow Lake County Park, outside Pine Grove. Seedlings are currently on sale and the deadline to order is either Saturday, March 22 or until supplies last.

In the past, the Conservation District says, proceeds from the Seedling Sale have paid for programs like Hershey Zoo America and materials for a children’s nature camp. Nearly 580,000 seedlings have been sold in past sales.

The Conservation District says planting tree seedlings can increase property value, enhance the wildlife habitat, beautify your landscape, generally improve the environment, and provide a source of income. Owners of small yards or large plots of land can take advantage of the Seedling Sale.

Here’s a look at the seedlings for sale this year:

  • Eastern white pine
  • Norway spruce
  • Red maple
  • Redbud
  • Red oak
  • White oak
  • Chestnut oak
  • Sugar maple
  • River birch
  • Black chokeberry
  • Bayberry
  • Silky dogwood
  • American cranberry
