A Schuylkill Haven man died from injuries he sustained in a vehicle crash last week in Port Carbon.
According to information released today by State Police-Schuylkill Haven, the crash happened shortly before 6 a.m. along Route 209 in Port Carbon on Oct. 13.
Police say 21-year-old Caleb Vasura was traveling south on Route 209 near the highway’s intersection with Wood St.
Vasura’s vehicle crossed over the white line on the southbound shoulder and struck a boulder head-on located about a foot off the road. The vehicle also hit two metal fence posts and came to rest after striking a concrete barrier.
Schuylkill EMS personnel rushed Vasura to Lehigh Valley Hospital-East in Pottsville for treatment of suspected serious injuries. Vasura succumbed to those injuries at the hospital at 7:16 that morning.
