UPDATE: At 6:25 p.m. Thursday, Mahanoy City Police Dept. reported that Osborne was in custody.
A Mahanoy City man is currently on the run from police following a standoff this morning in the borough.
In a post on Facebook, Mahanoy City Police Dept. says Joshua Osborne, 35, is possibly armed and considered dangerous. They say he escaped a standoff Thursday morning and was already wanted on a felony strangulation charge.
In the 1000 block of E. Mahanoy St. this morning, police say Osborne threatened to shoot officers while he was barricaded inside a residence. As police were awaiting backup, Osborne allegedly fled the residence through a second-story rear window and into an abandoned home. He then fled from that building to an unknown location.
Police say anyone with information on Osborne’s location should contact 9-1-1. They urge anyone not to approach Osborne if they see him.
