The plan to demolish and then rebuild the Sheetz store and gas station outside Schuylkill Haven is moving forward.
At Thursday’s meeting of the North Manheim Township Planning Commission, board members voted unanimously to recommend the final plan’s approval. A vote at next month’s township supervisors meeting will give the final OK for Sheetz to move forward with its plan.
According to plans submitted for comment to the Schuylkill County Planning Commission, the new Sheetz store will be 6,139 square feet.
Terri Delo, a senior project manager and partner at Integrated Consulting, of Wormleysburg, which is being contracted by Sheetz to have the plans finalized, demolition of the current Sheetz location in North Manheim will likely happen in “early 2025” and it’ll re-open in about 5-6 months, or by the summer of 2025.
The other Sheetz store in Schuylkill County, in Pottsville, underwent the same demolition-rebuild process in late-2022 and early-2023. Those are the two Sheetz locations currently in Schuylkill County.
There are early plans for another Sheetz location in Pine Grove Township.
