A Schuylkill County man has been arrested and charged with sex crimes against a child.
Police in East Union Township arrested Cristofer Rubio-Florentino, 27, of Oneida, this week and have charged him involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, and other offenses for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl over the course of three years.
An two-month investigation into Rubio-Florentino’s alleged activity revealed that he had sexual contact with a child and forced her to perform sex acts on him.
Several interviews and a forensic interview were conducted with the victim of the alleged assaults. The Schuylkill County District Attorney’s Office was consulted through the course of the police investigation.
Rubio-Florentino was arraigned before District Magistrate James Reiley this week and remanded to Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 cash bail, which he was unable to post.
A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24 before District Magistrate Anthony Kilker.
