Police in Minersville are actively investigating a reported robbery that occurred at a convenience store Monday night.
According to a Facebook post from the department’s official page there, the incident happened at about 10:17 p.m. Monday at the Minersville General Store at N. 2nd and North streets in the borough.
Police say there are three, maybe four suspects sought in the robbery. All the suspects appear to be black men with short-to-medium length dreadlocks and facial hair. They were all wearing black pants, a black or blue sweatshirt, and masks.
Witnesses are telling police that they saw the suspects run north on Second St. and then east on Carbon St.
Police believe the suspects are located on the north side of Minersville. They’ve obtained surveillance video that they believe shows the suspects on School St. at about 10:53 p.m. Monday in shorts and T-shirts. One of the suspects was reportedly wearing a sleeveless white undershirt, or A-shirt.
Anyone that may have surveillance footage or photos of the suspects or information that could lead to their arrest is asked to email bgossert@minersvillepa.gov.
Anyone with security cameras on their residence is asked to check for any footage capturing the 3, possibly 4 suspects.
