This week started out with some very light snow flurries for a few days. And now, it’s ending with a drenching rain.
National Weather Service says we’ll get about 1-2 inches of rain, mostly before 4 p.m.
This map NWS put together shows closer to 2 inches and more in some areas of the coal region:
The rain will move out by the late afternoon and replaced by some more cold air at night. These early Spring nights this year have been rather cold. That doesn’t look like it’s changing in the week ahead.

Saturday 🌧️💨: A rainy day ahead, especially before 4pm, with potential for heavy downpours. Highs hover around 48°. The light northeast breeze shifts north, picking up speed to 8 to 13 mph, gusting up to 24 mph. Rain’s a sure thing, with 1 to 2 inches possible.
Saturday Night ☁️🌬️: The clouds begin to scatter, leading to mostly clear skies later, and a chilly low of 27°. It turns blustery with a strong north wind at 22 to 24 mph, and gusts could hit a roaring 40 mph.
Sunday ☀️💨: Sunshine returns, with a high near 46°. The north wind remains active at 13 to 18 mph, and gusts could reach up to 32 mph.
Sunday Night 🌌: Staying mostly clear and calm with a low around 27°. The north wind slows to 5 to 10 mph, making for a quiet night.
Monday ☀️: Bright and sunny, warming up to 53°. A beautiful start to the week!
Monday Night 🌤️: Partly cloudy with the night temperature dipping to 33°.
Tuesday 🌤️: Partly sunny skies with a high close to 52°. Another pleasant day in store.
Tuesday Night 🌧️☁️: The rain chances creep back after 2am, with mostly cloudy conditions and a low around 40°. There’s a 40% chance of precipitation.
Wednesday 🌧️☁️: Showers become more likely after 8am, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 51°. The rain odds are at 60%.
Wednesday Night 🌧️☁️: Continuing with a 40% chance of showers, and mostly cloudy skies, as temperatures hold at 41°.
Thursday 🌦️🌤️: There’s a 30% chance of rain amidst partly sunny skies, and highs are expected to reach 54°.
Thursday Night 🌤️: Turning partly cloudy with lows settling at 36°.
Friday ☀️: Ending the week mostly sunny and warmer with a high near 55°.
