Schuylkill County Special Olympics is hosting a Polar Pop fundraiser later this month.
The Polar Pop is an event during which balloons filled with ice cold water are popped over a person’s head.
Funds raised from the Polar Pop event benefit the Schuylkill County Special Olympics. The organization uses the money to allow people with disabilities to participate in sporting events throughout the year.
Balloons for the Polar Pop can be purchased for $5 each. The balloons get popped over your head or someone else’s head.
The Polar Pop event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. at St. Clair Lions Club, 259 McCord Ave, in St. Clair.
People are invited to come and get balloons popped over them, watch others get balloons popped over their heads, and meet some of Schuylkill County’s Special Olympics athletes.
A space will be provided at the event for people to get warm and change their clothes.
