A New Jersey man died early Friday morning in a crash along Route 901 in Barry Township, Schuylkill County.
According to information from State Police-Schuylkill Haven, the crash happened on Sunbury Rd. (Route 901) near its intersection with Black Creek Rd. just before 1 a.m.
Police say a pickup truck driven by 31-year-old Jerome Derenzo, of Saddle River, NJ, was traveling west on Route 901 at the time of the crash. Derenzo reportedly lost control of the vehicle and it existed on the north side of the road.
The truck traveled about 60 feet off the road until it hit an embankment.
Police say Derenzo was discovered deceased in the driver’s seat of the truck.
