Pottsville native Travis Blankenhorn hit his 8th home run of the season for the Rochester Red Wings (Triple-A Nationals) on Thursday night.
Blankenhorn’s solo homer in the 4th inning Thursday contributed to a 3-run rally, which gave his Red Wings the lead.
But the Nationals affiliate couldn’t hold the lead and dropped a decision to the Worcester Red Sox, 5-4.
The Red Wings-Red Sox game on Friday night was postponed and will be played as part of a doubleheader on Saturday.
Blankenhorn is hitting .247 on the season with 8 HR and 29 RBI.
