Winter Weather Advisory – Snow and Sleet Monday Night

Find out how much snow we might get.

National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Schuylkill County.

The Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Monday, February 27, until 9 a.m. Tuesday, February 28.

Forecasters believe up to 2 inches of snow is possible with another one-tenth inch of ice, too.

The worst of this impending winter storm is expected during the early part of Monday night, NWS indicates.

Winter Not Done Yet

According to the 7-day forecast for Pottsville, there’s a chance of rain, snow, and sleet before 4 p.m. on Monday. However, snow, freezing rain, and sleet will dominate the rest of the night, into Tuesday morning.

A high of 36 degrees is expected in Pottsville on Monday with a low of 31 degrees.

Monday will be a rather breezy day, too. Sustained winds between 10-15 mph could gust as high as 31 mph, NWS forecasts.

Wintry weather should transition to plain rain on Tuesday morning. A high temperature of 43 degrees is expected in Pottsville on Tuesday.

It’ll warm up a bit in the middle of this week, with high temps of 47 and 55 expected on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

However, another chance at wintry weather is possible at the end of this week.
