A Pottsville man died Thursday following a motorcycle crash in Cass Township.
According to State Police in Frackville, the crash happened on Valley Rd., just south of Schaeffer Hill Rd., at about 4:30 p.m.
Police say a motorcycle ridden by Leonard Kristoff, 61, of Pottsville, was headed south on Valley Rd. at the same time a pickup truck driven by William Flynn, 60, of Pottsville, was headed north.
As Flynn attempted a left turn off the road and into a parking lot, he crossed into the path of of Kristoff’s motorcycle.
The impact of the crash knocked Kristoff off the bike.
Police say life-saving measures were attempted at the scene by a responding EMS crew but unsuccessful.
Traffic was detoured away from the crash scene for several hours, police add in their report.
