Orwigsburg Residents Warned of Rabid Coyote

Police in Orwigsburg are warning residents there about a possibly rabid coyote.

They say the coyote has been spotted in the Ridgeview area of Orwigsburg.

Residents are warned not to approach the animal if they see it. Police say it may be suffering from tremors and uncontrollable salivation, and does not fear people.

Pennsylvania Game Commission has been contacted to help in capturing the coyote.

If anyone in the Orwigsburg area spots this potentially rabid coyote, they’re urged to call Schuylkill County Communications at 570-628-3792.
