A Lackawanna County man was arrested last week after causing damage with a rock at a Pottsville area nursing home.
According to State Police in Schuylkill Haven, Ryan Tomczyk, 35, of Old Forge, was arrested back on Dec. 14 near the Green Valley Skilled Nursing home along the Gordon Nagle Trail in Norwegian Twp.
Police say Tomczyk took a rock and smashed the windows of 7 vehicles belonging to Schuylkill County residents, including people from Pottsville, Saint Clair, Gordon, and Auburn.
Tomczyk also threw a rock at the main entrance to Green Valley Skilled Nursing, police say. He tried to dash from the scene but police caught up with him a short time later along the Gordon Nagle.
Tomczyk is in Schuylkill County Prison on $1,000 cash bail related to this incident. Police have charged him with third-degree felony mischief for his alleged escapade at the nursing home.
However, he’s in prison on charges stemming from another incident in Cressona the same day. Tomczyk is charged with a first-degree felony Criminal Attempt – Robbery of a Motor Vehicle and other related charges.
We’ve reached out to State Police for more information on that incident.
