National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for Schuylkill County this Sunday, May 9, from 2 a.m. until 8 a.m.
Overnight low temperatures into Sunday morning could dip as low as 32 degrees, especially in the rural valleys. Overall, temperatures are expected to drop to 35 degrees Sunday morning.
The conditions could lead to frost that could threaten some sensitive vegetation. Any plants prone to frost damage should be covered or brought inside.
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected over the area through Saturday. Temperatures are only expected to hit the mid-50s today.
Rain is expected in the area on Sunday, mostly in the afternoon, with a high temperature of 54 expected in Pottsville. Only a slight warm-up is expected into next week. Temperatures should only get into the mid-60s during the day through Friday. Overnight lows are expected in the low-to-mid 40s.
