Today’s Weather in a GIF
Schuylkill County Weather Report for August 27, 2020
Everyone’s attention will rightfully be on the people of western Louisiana and eastern Texas today as Hurricane Laura makes landfall. The massive storm is expected to cause widespread damage to those areas. For more on Hurricane Laura, check out the National Hurricane Center site.
At home here in Schuylkill County, we’re expecting to potentially see some severe storm activity. And it should be a breezy day, at least.
National Weather Service believes there’s a 40% chance of rain showers or thunderstorms at any point during the day. Winds will be clocking in between 8-13 mph all day with some gusts up to 22 mph.
When it’s not raining or storming, it’ll be a mostly sunny day and hot. But it appears the heat breaks once again after tomorrow. On Saturday, the area expects to see the remnants of Hurricane Laura, expected to be Tropical Depression by then.
Even though the cone passes to our south here in Schuylkill County, bands of rain from the storm are expected to impact weather here on Saturday.
