Yuengling Brewery topped the list of the Top 50 Craft Brewing Companies in 2019 released earlier this week by Brewers Association.
The non-profit brewers’ advocate releases this annual list based on sales volume. Yuengling also topped the Brewers Association list last year.
Yuengling topped the list for most sales by a Craft Brewer, as defined by Brewers Association. It finished 7th among all brewers for the year is total sales volume, too. In 2018, Yuengling finished 6th overall in total beer sales volume.

The Pottsville brewer finished ahead of Boston Beer Co., makers of Sam Adams brand of beers, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co., New Belgium Brewing Co., and Duvel Moortgat.
Two other brewers with Pennsylvania ties also made the Top 50 in Craft Beer sales in 2019: Artisanal Brewing Ventures, of Downingtown, and Troegs Brewing Co., of Hershey.

Among all brewers, not just craft brewers, Yuengling finished 2019 in 7th place in sales volume. Leading the way was Anheuser-Busch, MolsonCoors, Constellation, Heineken USA, Pabst Brewing Co., and Diageo. Brewers Association says 40 of the top 50 among all brewers are craft brewers.
Craft Beer Sales Numbers May Slump in 2020
Brewers Association says 2020 will be a tough year for some craft brewers on account of the coronavirus pandemic. You’d be hard pressed to find a bar open anywhere in the U.S. right now, so that will ding sales figures, more than likely.
“Although 2020 will be a markedly different year than 2019 for the craft brewing market, these companies are well positioned to help the craft category weather the current market uncertainty and rebound with the flavor, variety, and innovation that beer lovers have come to expect from small brewers,” Bart Watson, the Brewers Assocation’s chief economist, says.
