Construction on a new ALDI grocery store is underway by Fairlane Village mall just outside Pottsville.
We saw workers clearing the site where a new ALDI store looks to be going along Route 61 Saturday afternoon. It’s on a lot next to the former AAMCO Transmissions shop on the northbound side of the highway.

This is the second big business development in the area between Empire Beauty School and McDonald’s restaurant since the beginning of the year.
A Jersey Mike’s sub shop franchise is believed to be moving on to the lot where the transmission shop used to operate. The Shenandoah Sentinel has information on that development here.
New ALDI Store Construction Begins Outside Pottsville
We’ve been hearing rumors about the ALDI store in Cressona moving to a new location. And for almost as long, people believed it would be moving closer to the mall outside Pottsville.

There’s still no transaction listed on Schuylkill County Parcel Viewer indicating the property sold recently. ALDI Inc. purchased the property where its store by the Cressona Mall is located back in 1995.
Speedwell Construction Inc., of Manheim, is in charge of building the new ALDI store. On that firm’s website, they’ve got photos of other ALDI stores they’ve built.

And this is the ALDI they built in Limerock, PA:

There’s also this store they built in Exton:

So excited to have a new Aldi’s! I do my grocery shopping there & only go to a larger store if Aldi’s doesn’t carry an item. My kids tell me that I should be the billboard girl for Aldi’s!
